A gorgeous reversible all round bag that introduces the concept of ‘bagging out’.
To attend this workshop you should be able to use a sewing machine independently (i.e. thread a machine and sew a straight line). If you are a complete beginner you should attend Make Friends With The Sewing Machine before this workshop.
I designed this great bag originally for a buggy as it fitted over the handles allowing easy access but it could also be worn across the body when both hands were needed for wondering toddlers! I very quickly realised after interest from the mums on the school run that it was a very popular bag and would make a great workshop!
The bag is reversible and comes in two sizes, the smaller one being more suitable for petite people or if you would prefer to wear it on one shoulder.
You will learn how to:
- Select the best fabric
- Read a pattern
- Correctly place and pin the pattern on the fabric
- Cut out
- Sew curves
- Use notches
- Bag out (A very difficult concept for people to grasp!)
Beginners' workshop, 2.5 hours. Fabric is required; for the medium bag 2 contrasting fabrics 3/4 metre. For the large bag 2 x 1m.
